Friday Book Club

Wow, it's Friday already! What have you been reading this week?

I recently read The Bro Magnet by Lauren Baratz-Logsted, after seeing this review on Dear Author (complete with a few snippets from the book), and I'm so glad I did. I absolutely loved it! I was reading it on the treadmill and laughed so hard at one stage, I almost fell off.

The story is about Johnny Smith - he's the kind of guy other guys love. He's been best man eight times and random strangers love his speeches so much, they ask him to be best man for them, too.

But women? They don't love Johnny so much, and all Johnny really wants is to find a woman who doesn't hate him, fall in love, and get married. So he decides to become a "better" version of himself, complete with throw pillows and a love of opera.

This book left me with such a good feeling at the end. I thought Johnny was a wonderful hero, and the story is as sweet as it is funny. Totally recommended.

Your turn!

I just finished Kate Elliott's 'Cold Fire', which was fantastic. I'm currently listening to the audiobook of Deborah Harkness' 'A Discovery of Witches'. I've lost interest somewhat, but I'm still enjoying it.

I've been reading Kressley Cole's Immortals After Dark series and really liking it.

I enjoyed Maya Banks' other KGI books but I didn't like Whispers in the Dark as much. I had trouble getting into it.

Don't know if anyone can help me; was reading an excerpt can't remember which website story about animal shifters. Basically its about think a cat shifter who is trying to get a bear shifter (who happens to have a puppy, think he's been trying to find a home for it)to pretend to be her boyfriend for a while to her family.

Can anyone tell me what is the name of the book and who is the author.

Hi everyone! I am juggling about 4 books right now, but I cannot help myself though! They are all really good. I am reading The Shadow Reader in small chunks at a time which I am really enjoying so far -it has a very interesting take on the world of the Fae. I have two books from the library - Heart Of Steel and Lothaire - but they are due pretty soon, so I have started to read that and just put Within The Flames by Marjorie Liu on the back burner for now.

@Angel: I think its "Bear meets Girl" bei Shelly Laurenstone, aka G.A. Aiken. The next book in her Pride Story (highly recomendet... I loved "Beast behaving badly" - soooo much fun...). Bear meets Girl is to be released March 27th, 2012.
Actually I am reading Fire me up by Katie MacAlister. Nice read...
